Ausilk's Review of Grey Ghost Gear Overland Bag

Really pleased with this pack. I chose it for my range day shooting-trauma supplies and am NOT disappointed. There is so much room, I haven't even nearly filled it because I don't intend it for routine first aid (That's in another always-in-the-truck IFAK.) but only for catastrophic aid. I have actually thrown in some first aid burn supplies (for accidently touching a hot suppressor!) and some other items and there is STILL more room! I'm sure I'll think of more things to put in it. I especially appreciate that it is DEEP enough to hold a rolled splint and thick packs of Israeli bandage; all medical packs are not. The clear zipped vinyl pouches secured inside on both sides of the main compartment are great to group like small items together or one fairly big item in each pouch - all contents are readily visible and easy to grab. Plenty of places to store tourniquets, too. Also it is a STURDY bag. I'm not afraid anything is going to break or fall off or fail. So glad I chose this one - and got it for next to nothing on sale at Optics Planet!
Pros:
  • A place for everything!
Cons:
  • Wish the shoulder straps were removable as I will not be hiking with it.
Best Used for:
  • Any activity where you need a good medical pack.
