SignalBoost1776's Review of Grid Defense .300 Blackout Upper Receiver
I'm writing this to let people know about my experience dealing with Grid defense/Ghost firearms, as I bought this straight from them NOT optic planet. I was really excited to get this upper, until I shot it. It looks great but the handguard does not stay on the barrel nut. It took me 2 magazines to notice it walking off. So I put lock tight on the screws and torqued them down to 50 fpsi. Went back to the range, and the handguard still walks loose. I sent it back to them to fix the issue. They send it back to me and the same issue persists. By this point it was well outside of any return window, so I decided to put green lock tight around the barrel nut. It's held up to 60 rounds put through it so far, but I'm not holding my breathe it won't walk off again as the lock tight heats up and breaks down over time.
TLDR:
My over all conclusion is that there is a major design flaw with the way they designed the barrel nut/handguard interface. It is solely held on by friction of the barrel nut and with 2 tiny rinky dink bolts that do not interface with the nut at all. I wouldn't waste my money with this. The companies customer service was somewhat responsive, but ultimately unhelpful. This is in NO WAY a reflection on Optics Planet. They had nothing to do with this.
