These boxes are available from a few companies, all of them made in China, probably all made in the same factory. GunVault seems to have picked the cream of the crop in terms of quality, so if you need one of these, the GunVault is the one to get. The combination lock was sturdy and operated crisply. I have had other identical boxes of other brands with locks that jammed and later broke. The foam padding smells strongly of mothballs, but a day left open in the sun will take care of that. There is room in this box for a single full-size pistol and maybe a couple of magazines. If you want to lock something in the car, this would be the way to go. An included cable allows you to tether the box securely to a seat mounting or door handle so the whole thing won't easily walk away.
