Radio vault initially frustrating - Cannon Security Products RadioVault Biometric Safe & Radio / MP3 Speakers / Alarm Clock

The Radio Vault is great at blending in. The clock, radio, and iPod features work good. The set up was easy, but the finger reader function was initially frustrating. After setting it up, it read my finger great for a couple of swipes. Then it became very inconsistent. My wife and I were frustrated because we thought if we needed to access it right away, we could be in trouble. After pressing the activation button, you swipe your finger and it decides if your data is in the system or not. It gives you time for about 4 or 5 tries. I was frustrated because it would take anywhere from 2 to 5 tries to have it recognize my finger. I would try to activate it several times everyday. What I realize now, is that I was training myself to be more consistent in placing my finger in the same place and angle each time. After several days of frustration, I reset the unit to factory specifications and started over. It has been nearly perfect ever since for both my wife and myself. Those days of frustration and repetitive swipes, forced me to be consistent on my finger position. I am now extremely happy with the unit. It works great and is very consistent. My advice is to not get frustrated, and use it for a week, then reset it and go.
