Know what you're buying - Hawke Sport Optics Airmax EV 4-12x40mm Rifle Scopes 1in Tube Second Focal Plane

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the scope. It sits on my Gamo Urban and really gets the job done. That said, it does have "budget scope" issues. The scope is fantastic until you hit the 8-9x range of zoom. At and beyond 9x the scope really falls on its face. It just stops gathering light. The eye box tightens up to the point where it's frustrating and the parallax adjustment gets extremely finicky. At 8x and below though? Excellent. The scope is light weight and adjustments are simple. I've dropped if off my tripod (from the height of a seated position) more than once and have had no issues with the zero shifting. Luckily I don't really need the 12x, but I bought the scope to use all the zooms and I just can't.
