gsmopar's Review of Hawke Sport Optics Sidewinder 30 6-24x56mm Side Focus Rifle Scope 30mm Tube Second Focal Plane
This is my second Hawkescope and I continue to like them. Heck of a deal for a sub $500 scope. Both of mine hold zero (300 Weatherby and this POF308), crystal clear glass, with some nice features for the money. Good buy!
Locking Focus: My favorite feature of the scope and it’s a simple no brainer. Hawke uses a second locking nut on the focus lens to lock the darn thing in place after you get it where you want. Really nice especially if you add rubber flip up caps. LOVE THIS!!!
I like the SR Pro Reticle better than the MOA. However, only the center section + illuminates on the SR in comparison to the entire reticle on the MOA. I’ve only used the illumination when bore sighting at night, but I’m under the impression that I might like the MOA illumination better if/when I ever need to use it.
Push Lock windage/elevation knobs: Another nice and simple feature.
