Budman's Review of Hazard 4 Plan-C Dual Strap Daypack

I learned about this pack a bit indirectly from Military Arms Channel on YouTube. They actually reviewed Hazard 4's Plan B single strap pack, but it looked enough like what I was looking for to do further research into Hazard 4's product line. I was looking for a sturdy, slim, high-quality pack in which to carry my short-barreled and suppressed carbine. I prefer a more traditional double-strap pack, and that led me to the Plan C. After carrying it to and from the job site and the range for a month, here are my observations about the Plan C: firstly, it's a very high quality piece of gear. The seams, stitches, fabric, layout, and execution are superb. It's got room in an inner pocket for two 20-rd. mags, and one can carry two 30-rd. mags in the lower outer pocket. Be aware that the max length for an AR upper in the main body area of the pack is 21". There is an inner strap to maintain your complete upper in its stored position, and plenty of room for your complete lower w/collapsible butt to ride along without banging against your upper. There's also a provision in the main compartment for a water bladder. With upper and lower stored in the main compartment, and four mags stored as mentioned above, the packs measurements are about 23" long by 8" wide by 6" deep. Very portable. It doesn't look like a rifle or carbine bag, either. It looks like what it really is--a slim day or two-day pack. The straps are comfortable, and all hardware is first rate. It has grab handles at both ends of the pack, top and bottom--a nice touch. The coolest storage-related feature, IMHO, is the hard upper pocket on the outside of the pack. It holds a pair of 10X binoculars perfectly, and it's hard shell outer material prevents damage to its contents when you lean back against a hard object, such as a wall or tree, while wearing the pack. All-in-all, I really like this pack, and recommend it without reservation. It'd make a fine one-day or two-day pack, but it's excellent for what I bought it for--low-key daily carry of my shortie carbine.
