Gstdth's Review of HERA Arms CQR AR-15 Stock System

Installing this stock can be difficult, which I’ll explain, but once you get it on it’s very enjoyable. There’s a hex screw that you have to install from grip to your lower, and it’s in a difficult angle to thread into the lower receiver. They include a shorter hex screw to help you do this, but it did not work for me because my lower is fine threaded, and the included screw was corse threaded. So I had to use the screw I had on my previous grip, which is longer. In order to do this I had to take the entire stock apart (stock is held together with torx screws, and once apart, the Ca compliant plate is removable) to get better access to the grip portion of the stock, to get the correct angle. BUT, when I did this there was still plastic in the way not letting me get a good enough angle for the grip screw to thread properly. So then, I had to file down some plastic inside the grip. Finally I got the grip screw in while one half of the stock was on and put the other half back together making the stock whole. After this long process the stock was finally installed. Side note- you won’t be able to tighten or loosen your castle nut once stock is on, armorers’ wrench will not fit. After going through all this I’m still giving this stock 4 stars because it works great once installed and it looks super cool.
