pistol packin preacher's Review of Hi-Lux Optics 1-4x24 AR CQB Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube
Now that my all time favorite TOUGHEST, EVER Burris Posi Loc scopes no longer made and difficult to find these new three screw Hi Lux/ Leatherwood scopes are my new favorite for use on hard hunting REAL hunting rifles which may include a drop here or there, being battered around by a Super Cub, Zodiac Raft, Old LAnd Rover, ATV's and the like.
Nice glass is good for sure, and this scope is clear and sharp, but that feature takes a big second place or seat to DEPENDABILITY and RUGGEDNESS and REPEATABILITY in my book. My first scope of this make and model has easily absorbed the rigors of being bolted onto an HK-91 and its WHACK! SMACK! RECIPROCATING MOTION with a 2.5lb bolt carrier group! And a recoil spring that is over 2 feet in length driving that BCG a long ways under high tension and a BIG hit or blow to the scope every time it cycles. I hope there is one or two or three left for you after I buy one here. I am not afraid to put it on my 416 Rigby and take it Hippo and croc hunting, my next big adventure.
Unbelievable value here, pretty sure I paid around $400 for mine and was happy with it at that price!
