John Baggett's Review of Hi-Lux Optics MK II Long Eye Relief 2-7x32mm 1 inch Tube Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane
I received this optic yesterday and mounted it on my Mossberg 7.62 Patrol Scout with Monstrum Low rings. These rings are the absolute shortest you could go, even a fraction of a mm lower would end up touching the picatinny rail.
I took it out to zero and that I ran out of mechanical elevation just shy of getting zeroed at 100 yards. I took everything off, shimmed the rear ring, and re-installed the optic. The shims (two slices of a Monster can) gave me plenty of working elevation and I was able to zero the rifle very easily from there.
The turrets are fairly crisp with audible and tactile clicks and they seemed to adjust very accurately. In the 30 rounds I fired, everything seemed to hold up well.
The glass is fantastic for a $300 optic. The BDC reticle is simple enough and was spot on to hit an 8” plate at 200 yards. The illuminated dot reticle is very bright and only slightly has a starburst look to it.
If I have a complaint it would be that the elevation ring is a little “soft” compared to higher end optics, but it’s not a huge deal.
I would not hesitate to buy another one of these optics for another Scout project. For the price paid it seems well worth the hype.
