Diamonte's Review of HIPERFIRE Xtreme AK Mark 2 Single Stage 2lb Short Pull Trigger
On BOTH WASR-10 (7.62mm) & WASR-M (9mm) requires HIPERFIRE Xtreme AK Safety Selector AKSLCTR or other adjustable safety selector. you can use your original selector but it will not engage safety. The trigger is to short to interface with safety selector. I have seen people using JB Weld or even a zip-tie to remedy this but I don't recommend this for safety reasons.
On the WASR-M (9mm) specifically it requires you to cut/grind off one side of the hammer due to interference with the bolt on the safety/ejection side. You cannot use the original hammer due to it not properly interfacing with the trigger. Use your original hammer as a reference when cutting Hiperfire hammer. Additionally the WASR-M has a weird backwards pin retaining clip. You have to push/pull clip forward and remove hammer pin first. But.... Weirdly the hammer spring is under trigger pin on ejection/safety side of receiver. So pull the hammer up a bit and flop pin retaining clip sideways so it lays flat on floor of receiver. Then removing the trigger pin should be a snap as without tension the retaining clip no longer interferes with trigger pin. Reassembly is typical AK other than cutting off a bit of hammer as previously mentioned AND only one side of hammer spring will interact with trigger due to the springs design. This doesn't seem to affect performance however.
In conclusion, this trigger is sweet! Short(er) reset, crisp & clean break with a light pull. However you have to factor in the cost of an additional Safety selector OR no working safety. Plus possible modifications to hammer if you have the WASR-M 9mm like me.
P.S. Trigger shoe is plastic with sharp bits in all the wrong places. If I chose to keep it on I would sand or file it a bit (I didn't). Works, but doesn't inspire confidence.
