Hawk's Review of Hogue Ruger Blackhawk/Vaquero Handgun Grip Coco Bolo Top Finger Groove Checkered 83851
I got these for my 1 year old Ruger 357 Blackhawk.
The grip frame stuck out about 1/4", on the lower back of the grip. There was also the same gap on the back bottom, between the grip and frame.
After putting lipstick on the front edge of the grip frame, and contact areas at the top, where the grip surround's the area above, and behind the trigger. I could find 2 areas, that were not letting the grip go the hole way into place. There was still attached splinters, in the bottom front corner.
After about 3 hours of using a chissle, and sandpaper around a block of wood, made to fit inside the channel.
I got a better fit, but still have a slight frame protrusion on the bottom back. If I went any further I would of had a recess, about 3/4 of the way up, on the back of the frame.
Shooting with them on is great, you get a better hold, and they fill your hand. No more pinky under.
I would never by them again. For what they charged, you could add some money, and have some made by a custom maker.
