Stock upgrade - Hogue Howa 1500/Weatherby L.A. Standard Barrel Full Bed Block Ghillie Green 15803

I picked up thi stock as a budget replacement for the plastic stock on a Weatherby Vanguard.

The original stock had not bedding just a simple plastic stock. The Hogue has an aluminum full bedding. Replacement is simple and once I had the action screws torqued down properly I took it to the range to verify my zero and test it out.

I was pleasantly surprised. It went from a 1.5 moa gun to a sub MOA gun and the only change was the stock. Same ammo etc.

I'm betting it will be even better after I get some time back behind this rifle. Its been sitting around for at least 10 years unused.

This stock fits the bill for what I need it for. A usable stock that's going to take hits and scratches from rocks and branches. It's going to take one heck of a hit to notice anything with the overmold stock.

I wasn't sure about the buttplate but it works very well and absorbs far more recoil than I had anticipated. A Mild shooter became a soft shooting rifle.

I will use this rifle far more in its current setup than the previous.

Overall I'm pleased with the stock.
