Eric Bergfield's Review of Holosun SCRS Solar Charging Rifle Sight
I have 12 red dot optics, the majority of them are Holosun, & now that the SCRS is on the market, I greatly prefer this design. I didn't buy it from Opticsplant, I got it for free as a bundle with a firearm I purchased in June of 2024 & the solar-battery has yet to need recharging! ...In fact, I've had it exactly 2yrs, & as of today, I decided to put it against my window, to get some sunlight to recharge, bc I use the firearm that it's mounted on frequently.
I like the SCRS design above the larger 409/509 that takes a side-loading 2032 battery. The mount the SCRS comes with is also a great height. If these were out when I first started buying red dots, this is all I would've gotten. It saves you more room for other attachments on your 1913- picatinny rail because it's basically half the length of most traditional tube red dots.
Strongly recommended, & since they don't take batteries, you don't need to carry spare batteries with your gear. ...Simply leave the weapon system in the sun for a few hours to recharge the internal battery.
