New design by hornady and works as described - Hornady SST Rifle Bullets, 7mm .284, 139 Grain

Some friends of mine have been using these bullets since they came out and they all seem to like them. Last year during the ammo shortage I was able to purchase a loaded box of 20 for $35. In deer season I hit a doe in the lungs at 210 yards and it dropped in it's tracks. I shot a nice sized buck at 25 yards with a lung shot and it ran for about 55 yards (unbelievable blood trail). Both shots were pass throughs with hits just behind the right front shoulder. Using the same bullet but different rifle my son shot his buck at 150+ yards with a quartering hit just behind the right front shoulder, the bullet passed through and hit the left front shoulder. This buck just fell over after being hit. The damage to the left shoulder was about the same as if you were using any other high velocity hunting bullet. They seem to work fine on deer just like Hornady interlock bullets. I bought these bullets off Optics Planet because they had them on sale for $32/box. That was a great deal in itself, I purchased 3 boxes. Sometimes you just find a deal that you can't pass up. I started working up a load using Hodgdon VARGET, so far so good. The boat tail design makes them easy to start in your casing and seating depth is just about perfect every time. I'm getting close to the velocity that is listed in my reloading manual and not losing any accuracy. My barrel is a 22" Proof Research with a 9" rate of twist. Being honest I don't think I would have bought these bullets at the current price. I like the new SST design and all but the Hornady Interlocks never let me down and I have been reloading them for over 30 years.
