The change occurred slowly, over a long period of time, so it took several years to notice that my Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs were no longer as comfortable as they once were. Years of use had flattened and hardened the cushion that surrounds the ear. Though the electronic hearing protection still worked like new, wearing the muffs for more than short periods was unpleasant. This was having a negative impact on my range sessions--and that just wasn't acceptable!

I decided it was time to replace the aging ear-pro.

While shopping for a suitable replacement, I stumbled upon the Howard Leight Hygiene Kit. If these could restore comfort of the Howard Leights, there would be no need to buy new hearing protection. The price was attractive, so I decided to take a chance. I ordered the Hygiene Kit.

The Kit is really simple to install, taking no more than 2-3 minutes to complete the upgrade. No tools are needed; just snap it in place.

After one month of use, I am really glad I didn't invest in a new headset. My old Howard Leights are like new again!

These ear protectors work really good. You can carry on a normal conversation, but when the bullet cracks the sound deadening technology blunts the sound to save your ear drums. These replacement part cushions are cushy and comfortable around the ear. Both my husband and I have Howard Leight ear protectors.

I am very happy with the hearing protection. It does what it says it does. I can hear people talking to me and when a shot goes off, it blocks the loud report.I'm a little hard of hearing anyway. The amplification helps.

I wound up with a neglected pair of Howard Leights that had the ear cushion hardened which made them pretty much useless as they didn't seal well anymore. I used this kit to replace the ear cushion and inner foam and the earpro works as new. Its probably a good idea to use this kit after a year or 2 of hard use as well.

Great idea why throw away the working ear protection because the rubber gets hard and foam becomes flat saved $40.00 by replacing the ear covers.Very easy to replace the parts, just remove the old worn out ear plastic and foam parts and replace them with these takes all of 5 minutes.

Optics Planet really came through on this one. No one else had any idea about what I was trying to explain to them. The only thing other vendors wanted to do was sell me a new set of sound reduction ear muffs.
The parts in the kit are *factory spec*, they fit perfectly.

Do not buy. These replacement kits do not have any adhecive or glue for attaching them to the ear muffs. Crazy Glue doesn't work.
