Legacy Reviewer's Review of Hyper Beam RedEye 2x10 Powerful Long Range Infrared Illuminators
Beam shape is a square (seen when beam is smallest. Initial short range testing indicates good beam quality and illumination out to 100 yards (haven't tested at greater distances due to weather).
Directions stage to carefully insert the CR123 battery being mindful of the polarity and inserting negative end first. This is exactly wrong.
Unit came with both a battery and a singular correct size scope ring for mounting on a weaver or picatinny rail. These were a surprise bonus as the battery and scope ring were not listed in the package content.
While the beam quality and illumination are good at 100 yards, the amount of illumination at 1000 yards does not seem realistic.
Pros: Beam Quality, Adjustable Beam Size
Cons: Forward 2/3 of housing (including bell houseing) is plastic
