MMiya88673's Review of InForce APL Pistol Mounted Weapon Light - 200 Lumen

I am very pleased with the InForce APL Pistol Mounted Weapon Light. It's well built and easy to mount. The momentary and constant on switch is easy to activate with trigger/index finger or offhand thumb. I gave it four stars because I'm not sure if I like it as much as a Surefire X300A, X300B, or XC1. However, that being said for the price you can't beat it. I also like the momentary and constant on switch of the InForce APL better than the Surefire. Definitely not as bright as the Surefire lights, but that being said I believe it would be plenty bright at night in a self defensive situation without compromising vision from being too bright. Out of the three Surefire lights mentioned I'd have to say my favorite is the Surefire X300A. It's 100 lumens less than the Surefire X300B, but is easy to mount and unmount. No screw, or screw driver needed. Even with the screw tightened securely I've had the X300B fall of my Glock 17 while running it hard in a class. I think some blue loctite would remedy the problem, however this is not a concern with the A. The XC1 is a great option for a Glock 19. I have to get some more trigger time with the InForce, but all in all this a great weapon mounted light. For the price point you can't beat the form and function. Great product that I would recommend to others interested in a weapon mounted light. Now I need to buy an additional holster that will accommodate an InFoce APL.
Pros:
  • Price
  • light weight
  • Switch location is good for me
  • easy to change battery. Do not need to remove light to change battery
Cons:
  • not as bright as other weapon mounted lights
  • a little bit bulkier in some instances
  • light weight, but it's plastic
Would Recommend: Yes
