Ir defense ir hunter mkiii - IR Defense IR Hunter MKIII 640x480 Thermal Weapon Sight

Got a great deal on my IR Defense Hunter MKIII during OP's Christmas sale. Jumping thru the ITAR hoops was kind of a pain, but understandable. The unit is easy to use; the only negative I have is that the eye relief is very short. It almost demands to be placed on a AR type platform. My initial desire to put it on a .300 BO bolt rifle necessitated the use of rail extension ( needs to be at least 8" long )to bring the IRD MkIII back far enough to see through it and get a decent cheek weld.

Overall - 4 stars.
