Purchased to be able to seamlessly transition the Rico Micro thermal between weapon and helmet mount. This mount is expensive for what it is; however, it's high quality, precision, and ability to make rapid transitions between platforms justify the expense. I am a firm believer in the doctrine of buy once cry once and expect this mount to last longer than I will.
