I purchased this for a 7.5 inch AR pistol. The shorter the barrel, the louder the blast and concussion. This should put all that a bit further out. The machining was done exceptionally well; tight thread with zero wiggle. The only negative to this is that you have to purchase the Kaw Valley Precision MACH Thread Adapter (KVP-MACH-TA-1228) with the 12x28 threads. I also purchased as a separate item the Kaw Valley Precision Mach Flash Hider End Cap (KVP-MACH-EC-FH) because why not?
