Safety too long's Review of KE Arms Ambidextrous Selector
Bought this safety due to the InRangeTV WWSD project. I was sorely dissapointed. The safety bar is too long, which allows the user to rotate the safety past the fire position. At first I thought this was due to an incompatibility with my billet receiver, but it does the same thing in my forged, mil-spec receiver. Additionally, I had issues where if I fired the gun, I would have to apply the safety, and then take it off in order to be able to fire the next round. Finally I just switched back to the mil-spec safety.
The safety, when it functions seems to be great. I love the 45 degree throw, and the ambidexterity of the safety. It is very easy to switch from safe to fire and vice versa. Tactile detents are a plus. However, disturbing ease with which you can over rotate the safety means I cannot recommend this product.
