Quality but incomplete - Kensight Elliason Rear Sight Complete Hardware Set

The hinge pin on my Elliason rear sight for my 1911 Colt Gold Cup Series 80 has been a problem ever since I bought it, back in 1984. Unfortunately a solid pin was used, and it would work its way out every so often, and get lost; I would only realize it was missing when I started to shoot very low. Fortunately I had seen Stacy Keach play "Mike Hammer", so I was informed by his helpful secretary that the shank of a 1/16" drill bit makes a substitute for the Elliason hinge pin, and over the years I was able to make the trail repair as needed.

Recently I brought my Gold Cup out to play, after letting it rest for several years, and wasted half a box of 45 ACP before I realized the hinge pin was gone again. I decided to try the proper part this time, so I ordered the complete kit, mostly because it had a better delivery date than just the pins. When the kit arrived, I noticed that the solid pin was missing, but since my interest was the roll pin only I just installed it, and was pleased by the fit. I judge I will not have a problem with a missing hinge pin again.

Overall I am pleased, but I must deduct a star because the package was incomplete as it was advertised as including both a roll pin as well as a solid pin.
