SS's Review of Kershaw Emerson CQC-6K D2 Folding Knife by Ernest Emerson

I am a female college student who uses this knife for work and as an everyday carry. I've had it for a few months now and am only writing this review because it's become one of my favorite possessions and my best knife. The whole product is well made and has impressive craftsmanship for its price, no plastic spacers or flimsy material, though the steel could be of higher quality. For my purposes it is completely functional and withstands some pretty heavy use on thick plastics, wood, etc. Emerson's influence really comes through and makes this knife so valuable. Drop point blade is nice, and the easy opening from my pocket actually works and is reassuring for any self-defense needs as well because it can be so readily opened from a discreet pocket. Pocket clip is very sturdy but clips onto my work pants easily which is great. Grip is streamline and ergonomic, never feel like this knife is going anywhere once I have my hand around it. Locking mechanism is fine, never have to worry about it. Handle and clip orientation is ambidextrous.

NOTE: If you are a woman or are shopping for one, this knife isn't too big for my hands (I've had frustrations with this before) and is easier to use than other knives I've owned so it's not a problem for female users in my opinion.

My complaint with this knife is that it is fairly difficult to close or open with one hand by itself. Its workable but kind of awkward and took me a while to get used to doing. Also, after camping and exposure to water some minor rust had developed on the blade, it's not difficult to clean and once stropped its good as new, but I keep my knives in good condition, so it was a little disappointing to see it rust that quickly.

Final thoughts are that it's one of the best knives you can get at its price. It's useful for everything.
