MattyO's Review of Kershaw Dividend Olive Composite Assisted Folding Knife by Kershaw Originals
I've had this knife for over a year now, and while I have other knives (many more expensive), the Dividend keeps finding its way back into my pocket.
While the factory edge isn't all that great out of the box, a little love on some ceramic sharpening rods and the occasional touch up on a leather strop do wonders! The CPM D2 holds a decent edge (almost as good as S30V). And while not a stainless, the N690 spine is, which is the part that will get exposed to most moisture (like sweat in your pocket on a warm day).
As usual for Kershaw, their assisted opening mechanism is lightning-fast and fires strong. Great for easy one-handed deployment with a satisfying *snap*. The only downside is one-handed folding takes more time and practice than something like a button-lock flipper.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the Dividend, and can easily recommend this to people who don't need a giant chunk of steel weighing down their pockets. It carries light, is very discrete, and quite handy when you need an American-made little slicer.
