Mark D's Review of KIDD Innovative Design 10/22 20in Non-Fluted Match Stainless Steel Bull Barrel Bead Threaded And Capped

This is a beautiful barrel and works great in my semi custom 10/22. I have a Kidd bolt/charging handle, Faxon Receiver (don't recommend), and BX Trigger in an MDT Oryx Chassis. I've done a fair amount of ammo testing and even being a novice at precision shooting have been able to shoot 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards with this barrel. I know it's "guaranteed", but it will do it. Though you need decent ammo as it doesn't like everything you throw at it. In my testing it liked the following ammo (Averaged 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards with five 5 shot groups):
SK Standard Plus
SK HV Rifle Match
SK Semi Auto
CCI Green Tag
ELEY Team (smallest groups on average)
ELEY Match
ELEY Tenex
ELEY SABR (Precision Semi-Auto Bench Rest)
Fiocchi Range Dynamics

It did not like (at least the lots I had): CCI SV, CCI Mini Mag, ELEY Target, ELEY Club, Federal Auto Match, or Federal Champion. Most of these produced at least 1 inch + groups at 50 yards. The Eley were between 1/2 and 1 inch groups.

There are plenty of great barrels out there, but I'm very happy with the KIDD and would recommend it to anyone. It is a heavy barrel but shouldn't be a concern for anyone doing precision shooting. Not something I'd recommend for rodent/bird hunting if you're not just camping out in one spot.
Pros:
  • Accurate
  • Pretty looking
  • Great weight feel
  • Likes a wide variety of ammo, even some cheaper stuff
Cons:
  • A little hard to keep clean
Best Used for:
  • Precision 10/22
Would Recommend: Yes
