Overall, very fine telescope for the money - Konus Konusmotor 130 Telescope

Seriously, for the Price Range, this is a great telescope for amateur astronomers.

The size of the aperture is the key to this telescope, as the larger diameter allows for more light-gathering power for better optical quality, and the 1000mm focal length allows for more magnification than you will find in many telescope with this price range. The compact size of the tube also allows for relative ease of transport, and the overall unit is about less than 40 lbs to carry. I have a lot of fun taking this out to the park at night with the kids, to observe the moon and other celestial objects in the sky.
