Legacy Reviewer's Review of Konus Konuspot 90 65mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Spotting Scope
I'm disappointed overall, but I guess you get what you pay for. I bought this to use as a 100 yd spotting scope for sighting in rifles.
It works well at up to about 50 yds. At 50 yards, I can see .22 and larger holes in paper pretty well. Beyond that though, the relatively poor optics quality becomes apparent. At 100 yards, it is impossible to get a clear picture no matter how the controls are adjusted; the optics just aren't that good. .22 cal holes are invisible at 100 yards, and .30 cal holes are sort of visible but are fuzzy, hazy, and difficult to make out.
The controls and tripod worked about as well as I'd expected, and were ok. Little bit flimsy but workable, and for $100 price range I'd expected that anyway.
Overall, if you're at 50 yards or less, I think this would make a decent spotting scope for you. Anything over 50 yards though and I'd suggest paying more for a higher quality scope.
Pros: Price
Cons: Poor optics quality
