Donald's Review of Konus PRO M30 12.5-50x56mm Waterproof Rifle Scope

I wanted a very high power scope that fit my budget for shooting target competitions up to 400 yds. Took advantage of it's discounted price during XMAS season and another discount due me from Optics Planet to buy this scope.

Presently, its mounted on one of my more accurate rifles that I like to use in our range's competitions. It's a 6.5x55 cartridge rifle and I've had it at range enough to shoot around 100 rounds downrange with this Konus M30 mounted. As mentioned in the title, this M30 has decent optics, even when set at its highest power. Seems clear to me, edge to edge. Its not as sharp or bright as the Weaver Super Slam 20X scopes I own and you can forget about me comparing it's optics to the higher power Nightforce, Swavorski and etc. scopes I've viewed thru on my fellow shooter's rifles. I've no problem with its parallax or focus adjustments....both work just fine. Its reticle is on the fine side and I like it.

Only negative about my M30 for me is its windage/elevation adjustments. I like its pull-up turrets, but when adjusting them, it's sometimes difficult to feel/count there clicks when turning them. This is basic reason for giving this Konus only 3 stars. I seldom shoot the same reloads in my rifles, am always experimenting, so adjusting the turrets is something I regularly do. Did shoot a box test last time at range with the Konus M30 rifle to check the turret adjustments at a 100 yd target. Results were decent on the box test.

In short, yea, I'd recommend the scope to someone on a budget, but if you expect the very best for less, look elsewhere.
