Works great where it counts - Konus Konusmotor Electronic 500 Newton 114mm Telescope

It really works great for what it is and what it costs. Some of the features, such as the motor drive, aren't really perfect, but they work, and so it's still a positive over similar options in the price range. with a little DIY work, most of the minor issues are fixable. and: the core scope is really good. for what I paid, I'd be happy just getting the scope itself, so all the extras are just that, free extras.

The main annoyance for me was that the tripod was not really designed to be portable. from the factory it was a major chore to fold it up to put in the trunk because the leg bracing was attached by lots of tiny wing nuts. I fixed this by replacing the bracing with some cable and wood blocks.
Pros: optically great, many features, affordable
Cons: makes me want a more expensive setup
