This laser training gun is a fantastic addition to training with the Laser-Ammo's Smokeless Range! The weight (20.4 lbs actual with mag) is very similar to an actual weapon and being able to practice changing mags during immediate action drills is a real plus. The 3-dot sights are quite good and easy to see in average or better lighting conditions. The rear sight is set in a dovetail notch. I might try using that notch to replace the rear sight with a sight-mounted red dot to practice with that as well. I have an airsoft gun with a recoil enabled laser on it, but this is exactly what I was looking for. It doesn't require green gas, it allows drawing and repeated fire with no hassles, it allows more realistic mag changes, and it even has a sensor to catch any inadvertent drifting into the finger guard. Fits nicely into the 578 Pro-Fit Compact holster by Safariland. Great purchase! Recommended.
Pros:
- IR laser allows more realistic training than a red laser that you can follow
- Grip feel and handgun weight are realistic
- Trigger is realistic weight and smooth
Cons:
- The trigger control for sensor control is a little cumbersome. A switch in place of non-movable takedown lever would have been better.
