RunningRich's Review of CORD Promethean LP-1 1x26-35mm Reflex Red Dot Sight w/Aurawake

This is by far my favorite optic. I was quite hesitant at first to pick up an optic from a new company, but after extensive research, I decided to give it a go about a year ago. The main aspect that sold me was the company's focus on engineering. I saw them at Shot Show 2023 and was blown away by their engineering team and the innovative features the product offered for the price. I picked one up shortly after and have now put about 10k rounds of varying calibers on different platforms through the optic.

My shooting is mainly on the move in various carbine training classes and sub par environments. The optic's finish has held up well. Definitely some scratches here and there but the aluminum construction is rugged as can be and there have been no signs of oxidation on the steel clamp (this optic has been submerged in salt and fresh water many times in rifle torture tests).

The battery life is spectacular although my unit does not have the Aurawake feature, so I cant imagine how good the battery life has become on the newer models. I have not yet had to replace the battery and I keep it on medium brightness 24/7 with the full donut reticle.

The dot clarity and glass clarity SURPASS my aimpoints and EOTechs by a lot. This is what truly surprised me about this optic. Whatever magic they are doing seems to be working wonders on the shooting experience of the dot. Even under Mag and Nods, the dot is crystal clear.

I have had to replace the hood on the optic one time after MULTIPLE hard drops on various surfaces. The slight deformation I saw on the hood was at the 7k round mark after nearly a dozen drops and lots of barricade work. The observed deformation did not effect function at all. The hood was cheap and bolted right up. The easily replaceable hood is one of my favorite features. As explained to me by L&S, the hood was designed to be a sacrificial pawn. My hood did its job perfectly after many drops and was easily changed.

I have not experienced any zero shift at all. Dot zeros easily and holds it through the abuse. One of my worries was running it on my scar 17s which is known to eat many optics alive. This survived the 2600-2800 rounds of 308 abuse on my scar with no issues.

After my experience with this dot, I will be buying more to outfit my rifles. You cannot beat this optic for the cost currently. It easily keeps up with and surpasses optics that cost twice as much. Save yourself the money and give it a go. You wont be disappointed.
