Low price, ok optics but terrible quality control - Leapers UTG 3X Magnifier w/ Flip-to-side QD Mount

ordered 1 to see quality, was ok for price, and would be a good test to see if magnifiers are beneficial before spending $600 on an eotech brand one. test fit it on one rifle and was really impressed with the magnification of the eotech reticle - i had really thought it would not make much of a difference - i was wrong. and i like the magnifier with eotech pairing better then my $1400 4x ACOG, plus still the option to go to 1x

wanted to have more options to test on other rifles so ordered two more one had weak flip to side spring so does not stay in place too well, again ordered two more one was missing a factory screw that looks like it may be the nitrogen purge screw or factory adjustment screw leaving big open hole in body of sight, also at this time i started mounting them and adjusting the center location of the optic - and three of the five magnifiers have faulty elevation lock screws, not too critical but indicative of issues 4 of the 5 had broken in the box rubber cap lens protectors. i think 1 in 5 was actually fully "ok" from the box

i have yet test their ability to hold zero under recoil yet. i am going to keep three sights and test them, as the optical quality is not too bad, they do center fine and magnify well for the price and see if the lock screws are ok or not on them, may try to nail polish them solid if the adjustments seem to move on magnifier center... i never liked the look of the cheap magnifiers as they often look terrible aesthectially, are too long, heavy etc - this one is very similar to the eotech magnifier in size, weight and design, so figured would be an inexpensive way to try a magnifier out and see the benefits before spending nearly 10x more each,

but just terrible quality control by the manufacturer... i do not blame optics planet as they did their job, good price, fast shipping etc - but selling such low quality product may eventually reflect on their reputation to some customers.
