Worst scope ever purchased - Leapers UTG 4-16x56mm Rifle Scope

While not a rifle scope expert, I've used scoped rifles enough to know what I like. This scope may have the best build, easy to use turret adjustments, and outstanding ability to adjust for parallax, but failed miserably in providing a useful reticle. Even during daylight hours the reticle lines were difficult to make out and if trying to focus on a target with a dark background the center dot disappeared completely. In addition, the manufacturers diagram suggesting that the illumination included 3 out of 4 duplex lines plus the center dot was totally misleading. The only part of the reticle to be illuminated was the center dot and was so weak as to be nearly invisible. Upon close inspection, the center dot illumination could be seen to be 8-10 "grains" of light as opposed to a single sharp illuminating beam. In their defense, it's possible the mil dot reticle might have been superior, but we only get one chance at a first impression. I think it's safe to say this will be the one and only scope from this manufacturer I'll spend my money on.
