gnappi's Review of Leapers UTG Armorer's Tool Cases w/ External and Internal Pockets

OK, it's not billed as a handgun case, and while it looks like a handgun case having two padded divided large storage areas, and ten "accessory" slots, it is not. The pics on the web make it look EXACTLY like the other multiple pistol cases but with what appear to be 10 "mag storage" areas on this one instead of five on all the others.

The reality is if you shoot small weapons or single stack handguns it will serve this purpose but if you like many have several double stack (DS) mags for each handgun, reduce the 10 "accessory" spaces to six as that's all the DS mags it will hold. The other two narrow ones are not usable for DS mags at all.

Construction: The double main zippers are plastic, the handles are pretty good and go all the way around the bottom to help hold bag weight but the "X" in a box secure stitching is only at the ends where the handle is.

The side accessory pouch is plastic lined as is the main body making it water resistant.

The width is a bit narrow. When any kind of "stuff" is put in, the "accessory" pouches make it difficult to close. If it were 3/4" to an inch wider this would not have been a problem.

Finally in order to fit two mid to full sized pistols in the case and be able to close it easily they are best stored barrel DOWN in the bag and the grips at the opposite ends of the case. Not a biggie BUT, while the bottom is reasonably well padded with firearms stored in this orientation the padding will collapse eventually leaving your sights at the mercy of even a short drop.
Pros:
  • Works with single stack firearms
  • Pretty well made
Cons:
  • Not wide enough
  • plastic zippers
  • Not really large to be an "armorers" bag
Best Used for:
  • Single stack firearms
