Mayhem's Review of Leapers UTG Offset Flashlight Ring Mount

These are OK, but just OK in my opinion. I read a lot of complaints about flashlights not fitting even with the included adapter but it fit my Streamlight flashlight perfectly. I'm pretty sure the screws aren't the strongest, some complaints about stripping and coming loose. I used blue threat lock on mine and was careful not to overtighten. Once tightened the flashlight can be wiggled/tilted vertically just a tiny bit if you use a little force, maybe like 2 degrees but for a flashlight that shouldn't matter, it doesn't move unless you actually try to tilt it, who knows could be my rail. I wouldn't necessarily bet money that if your gun was dropped out of a helicopter this wouldn't possibly break off but if you're dropping your rifle out of a helicopter you've got bigger problems probably. I don't think it would break off dropping it from chest height onto concrete but I'm not about to test that. Overall, good for the money, home defense, but might upgrade in the future. Puts my thumb right at the on off switch when holding my rifle so no remote switch required. I might upgrade the screws. I was careful when I put it on but it did mar the hole in my rail just a tiny bit, but that's to be expected I suppose. It works fine, I just wish it didn't rotate slightly, and I mean only slightly, but I'm afraid to tighten it any more for fear of damaging my rail which in kind of a more ultra light type.
Pros:
  • Cost, functionality
Cons:
  • Not the best but usable.
Best Used for:
  • Home defense, occasional shooting, medium work
