Put it on and leave it alone. I was tinkering with the optics and for end rail covers on my rifle I removed the switch after several moths of being installed. When I replaced it it was not working. I put the thumb button cap on and it worked, so pressure switch broke. The light worked well until then..
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: can break easy
