Art scope on m1a - Hi-Lux Optics Camputer ART Scope M-1000 2.5-10x44 Auto Ranging Trajectory Rifle Scope

This scope appears to work well, but the chart that comes with it for calibrating it is very limited and does not include some of the most common ammunition. The scope arrives already mounted in the rings, but I found mine to be canted to the right a bit. I loosened the ring screws to rotate the scope tube to remedy the cant and found the front mounting screws were already loose, or so I thought. I leveled the scope and as I was tightening the ring screws I found that the front ring cap was not recessed enough for the screws and that the mount threads were in fact stripped due to inadequate thread engagement because the screws were too short since the cap was not allowing enough protrusion of the threads to engage the mount. I emailed hi lux a week ago and have not heard back from them on this issue. Apparently quality control is not up to par. I will need a new front mount, cap, and screws now. They are not a standard size stocked by my local hardware store, or I would opt for screws that are a bit longer to remedy this. They don't match up with standard now metric screws that the hardware store stocks. The pitch appears to be non standard.
