Robert's Review of Lee Liquid Alox Bullet Lube 4 Ounce 90177

After I resize cast lead bullets, I coat them with a Lee Liquid Alox Bullet Lubricant / mineral spirits solution prepared as follows:

Mix one 4 oz. bottle of Lee Liquid Alox Bullet Lubricant and 28 oz. of odorless mineral spirits in a 32 oz. bottle. Shake the solution vigorously. If the solution has ‘clumps’, warm the mix, then shake it vigorously again. Repeat this process until the clumps dissolve.

Pour the a few ounces of the solution into a pump spray bottle for use as needed.

Before each use, shake the solution vigorously. Dissolve clumps and settled ‘stuff’ as previously described.

Put a quantity of bullets in a container. Spray and hand tumble the bullets for a few seconds (or shake them gently in a sealed container), then spread them on a tray to dry. They should be ‘tack free’ at room temperature in about an hour, dry in about 4 hours, and ‘set’ in about 8 hours. To dry and set them faster, put the tray in a warm area where the air is moving.

(Drying tip: To dry the bullets and set the Alox even more quickly, pour the coated bullets into a ‘transfer’ tray. Let the bullets drain for a few minutes, then pour them onto a drying tray and place it about two feet away from a small space heater on “Low” heat.)

When the Alox is set, the bullets are ready for loading.

One 32 oz. bottle of the Lee Liquid Alox Bullet Lubricant solution will coat thousands of bullets.

The process is very quick and easy... with little mess. To clean up, simply wipe down the container and tray(s) with a paper towel and a small amount of mineral spirits.

Note: To help prevent the spray head from clogging: Put about 1 oz. of mineral spirits in a small container (like a juice glass or baby food jar). Remove the spray head and cap the bottle. Put the free end of the spray head tube in the mineral spirits and spray a paper towel. Repeat, as necessary, until the spray is clear. Discard the paper towel. Wipe down the spray head and store it for future use.

Happy loading!
