This camera will not disappoint - Leica V-LUX 1 10MP Digital Camera 12 x Optical Zoom & Image Stabilization - 18313

I had considered a number of dslr cameras from different manufacturers. Then I realized I wasn't all that keen on dealing with different lenses, & the models I looked at had kind of cheap fealing lenses at that. This camera has excellent zoom range & is elegant in both its simplicity (when you want it) and functionality (when you want it).

One little gripe: The case that came with the accessory kit is very basic & only marginally adequate. I would replace with another that's more protective & functional.
Pros: Quality construction, fine images, powerful features
Cons: Pricey, but that's a Leica for you
