Excellent scope for the money - Leupold 3-9x40 Mark AR Rifle Scope w/ Duplex / MilDot Reticles

I bought the Leupold 3-9x40 Mark AR scope to mount on my Rock River Arms Standard A4 rifle. I opted to use Leupold Mark 4 rings (see separate review). The combination was very easy to mount, and is rock solid on the rifle. The result was amazing: on the initial sight-in (without boresighting) at 50 yards, the first two rounds I fired were on paper. With a total of five rounds fired, I was consistently in the 9- and 10-rings. At 100 yards, only minor adjustments were necessary.

The BDC reticle on this scope was very easy to calibrate and makes longer-range shooting a breeze. The field of view is extremely clear, with no spherical distortion at the edged. The light-gathering properties of the 40mm objective lens are excellent.

In all, an outstanding choice as a conventional scope for use on all AR-15 type rifles.
