Battery life is terrible - Leupold 1x14 Tactical Prismatic Rifle Scope w/ Illuminated Red Circle Plex Reticle

I thought this site was the answer to the prayers of those shooters with an astigmatism. Unfortunately, the batteries are the downfall of this. It does not use the CR 123's as do most other accessories and the smaller camera batteries do not have a long life. If you tighten the cap to the battery housing and lean your gun back against something in the safe, it turns on the site and drains the battery. Thank goodness for the FFP reticle.
Pros: Front focal plane reticle
Cons: battery life is atrocious
