Wink's Review of Leupold 1x14 Tactical Prismatic Rifle Scope w/ Illuminated Red Circle Plex Reticle
Great little optic for AR-style rifles.
Leupold has become famous for the quality of their glass, and this little scope doesn't disappoint...
Sharp clear and bright, it's a refreshing giant step up from most of the super compacts out there.
I chose the circle with crosshair reticle over the circle dot, as I find it to be a more pleasing and repeatable sight picture, and just as fast to get on target.
And fast is what this sight is all about.
Using the selection of risers supplied, I was able to mount the scope at the perfect height for instant alignment when I shoulder the weapon.
With zero magnification and super clarity, this lets me keep both eyes open and simply superimpose the reticle over the target.
The reticle is etched, not projected, so it's always visible even when you're not using the illumination feature, and it's not fuzzy when you do illuminate.
Fast and fun for any type of action shooting.
Good, tactile, precise, adjustments.
If your shooting is mostly fast and up close and you don't need magnification, this one is a great buy and hard to beat for an AR, a .22, a pistol caliber carbine, or a whitetail woods gun.
