None's Review of Leupold D-EVO 6x20mm Tactical Rifle Scope

This item has no focus or parallax adjustment. I bought one for an AR. I tested it in a field with an 1200 yard depth in mid afternoon, on an overcast day, typical for my state during hunting season. Using a Sig range finder I checked it at numerous ranges. The reticle is small but very sharp and the glass very bright. The scope was badly out of focus up to at 300 yards looking at a tree stump. It was better but not great at 500 yards looking at a wood pile. From 500 to 745 yards it had the same problem it did up to 300 yards. There was very little definition looking at a large barn at 745 yards. I know the DEVO is only ranged per the reticle up to 600 yards.

I thought maybe I needed new eyeglasses or had some sudden deterioration in my eyesight, and made sure I did not get a Chinese knockoff. I then compared it to their Mark 4 and then their cheapest 2 x 7 scope that cost $200 for a .22 rifle. I set both at 6 power. I could count the shingles on a garage roof at 135 yards with either one. With the DEVO I could not see any shingles or lines on the same roof at the same distance. Leupold's $200 scope was infinitely sharper than the $1,000 DEVO. I called Leupold to see if there was a recall but after waiting long to speak to anyone I hung up and sent an email to the service address they provided. Quite surprising, they never responded. I then tried another DEVO and found the same problem. After that I returned it. All in all, this is quite disappointing. Every Leupold product I used was top notch and worked as claimed without fail, except the DEVO. The DEVO was exactly what I wanted, fit my needs very well, and I very much like the reticle. I actually like it to the point that I considered buying a different Leupold scope with the closest similar reticle. Unfortunately, that model is a standard design and you can't use a red dot with it, which is why I bought the DEVO. Along with the DEVO I bought a Leupold red dot which I like very much and use all the time. They make an excellent red dot and I use it far more than I thought I would. Unfortunately, the DEVO I received, and the second i examined, were not usable. This is the only time I had the experience of Leupold ignoring my contact with them. Who knows? Maybe I just looked through two bad ones. Others claim DEVOs are great but that was not my experience. I like the design so much that if I found one that was in focus I might buy it. But Leupold has no excuse for not responding.
