Huy's Review of Leupold DeltaPoint Pro 1x 2.5 MOA Dot Sight, Night Vision
I had the same experience as the reviewer before me George Smith. Mounted the optic on my volquartsen, brought up the weapon to get a sight picture and it looked like there were 2 red dots one on top of the other about the distance of a red dot (2 moa) apart from each other. Compared to my Trijicon RMR there was signifigant star bursting around the dots. Filled out the RMR on Leupold's website and sent it in for repair. Got it back about 6-8 weeks later and it's slightly better. Now it looks like the 2 dots are touching vs 2 moa apart. And there is still star busrting around the dots. Interesting thing is that the 2 dots converge the farther from my face the gun is held. I'm on the shorter side with a 32 inch shirt sleeve. Maybe there were be a single dot for someone with arms 4 inches longer than me...I don't know. I suspect the 2 dots are caused by the reflection off the front and rear lenses. regardless of one or 2 dots the red dot should not star burst as much as it does. My RMR did this after about a year of use and Trijicon was able to remedy it. I will have to say the RMA process through Leupold was relatively easy, so good on them for that.
Sorry George, you might not be happy with what you get back from the RMA with Leupold.
It's a nice optic but for the money it should be better. If i were to do it again, I would have gotten a Vortex Venom or sig and saved $150. I would not recommend this product because 500 bucks is a lot to pay for a product that inferior to it's lower priced peers.
