Leupold optic's appear awesome, mounting system "no so much"! - Leupold DeltaPoint Pro 1 x 2.5 MOA Red Dot Sight

I have obtained the Delta Point Pro, which appear to be great unit. I thought I had research all of the red dot sights thoroughly prior to the purchase, as Leupold indicated they support a multi-gun mounting kit depicting Kimber pistols with fixed or adjustable sights as one weapon supported with in. I did order and receive the mounting kit, and as you can imagine, I headed to the gun smith for installation aid of the adj. sight removal and installation of the supplied Leupold mount. As I waited patiently for my Kimber to return with the new hardware, I was suddenly disappointed, as the gun smith indicated that the parts supplied in the kit don't really fit. He called Leupold to request info, just to find that indeed, they don't supply a mount to fit the Kimber dovetail! I said "really". Then why are they advertising that it will? I'm sure that I will be sucessful in mounting the deltapoint pro properly on my Kimber SS Target II, but just don't know exactly when this might happen or which company will supply the correct mounting plate to be sucessful. Lastly, the remaining mounts within Leupold's multi-gun kit may fit the respective guns advertised, but I would be very careful.
