I had read previous mixed reviews on the Web of this, but decided to take the plunge since I own other Leupold products that I've considered top notch and and are synonymous to the name. First Red Dot came in, sure enough I am another victim of the Star-Burst effect that others wrote reviews of, I am very disappointed, yet hopeful that I may come across a good unit (because build quality looks great) so I return it for an exchange. 2nd unit comes in and the Red Dot is a lot better and more defined, unfortunately I have to exchange it again because it was boxed incorrectly and I didn't have the unit with all the mounts (I wanted to keep the sight and simply have them ship me the mounts & hardware). I get the 3rd unit (2nd exchange), and the Dot is ALOT worse than the first unit. Bad definition, and the star burst effect was present even in nominal light conditions. I gave up and sent it back for a refund. Kudos to OpticsPlanets Customer Service and helping me out through this ordeal! Also, I had called Leupold about this, and they indicated that some Star-Bursting effect is "acceptable". I just thought to myself, "What ?!?!", knowing this would be subjective to what they deem tolerable, I chose not to return the unit directly to Leupold. You usually get what you pay for, guess this was not the case. I'm now debating whether to spend the extra money and just go with the Trijicon RMR, or should I have spent less money for the Burris unit that has had some decent/good reviews???
Pros: Build Quality & Optics
Cons: Red Dot Way Too Bright; Poor definition of Red Dot
