Quality scope for reasonable price - Leupold Patrol VX-R 3-9x40 with FireDot TMR reticle

After careful consideration, I purchased this scope to mount on my Sig 716 Patrol rifle with Geiselle SSA-E trigger. I plan on shooting up to 500 yards (not many places near me to practice longer ranges). I'm getting older and I'm happy I purchased the 3-9x40 version. It is light weight and that was a factor since I didn't want to add unnecessary weight.

It was mounted in a LaRue OBR removable mount. I have it sighted in @ 200yds / used the box test to confirm adjustments. Have used it with and without the firedot. I also added the Alumina Lens Covers which work well on this scope. I haven't experienced any issues with bumping the windage/elevation mentioned by others. I did set at zeroes once sighted in.

I shoot @ a small range where exceptional shooters hang out. Some can be real gun/optic snobs. I didn't want to pay thousands of dollars for a quality scope. A very accomplished shooter inquired about my weapon. After rapidly ringing steel (standing offhand @ 200) he said this rifle and scope worked much better than he expected.

I ordered a Leupold RX-1200i TBR/W and plan on using the mils ballistic feature to dial in targets @ random distance (like the mil/mil feature on this scope). Often the 1st shot is the only one that counts.

I take care of my things and given the lifetime warranty, I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
