Don't lose the proprietary leupold allen wrench!!! - Leupold RifleMan Rifle Scope Mount Rings

I wanted to swap my rifle scope set-ups and after searching through my box of allen wrenches, I realized the Leupold allen wrench is proprietary. It is between 2.5 and 3mm, and between 3/32 and 7/64! Thank God I save allen's and organized the many duplicates I get from multiple installs, but this is ridiculous!!! I see no good reason for this.

Rings are great as advertised and reviewed, but don't lose the allen and mark it like I do to keep "special" tools separate. Lame Leupold, swap these out for standard sizes and stop being silly. I wasted a lot of time trying every allen to find yours. This is the first item I have found in my collection that uses such a proprietary screw, and I have multiple parts from different vendors, and tons of allen sizes. I am sure there are others, but beware.

I have to say I hate companies that do this in general also, I almost wasn't going to buy alternate rings. However, at the price I WILL re-purchase Leupold and keep a special eye on this allen wrench. Then I can put another one of these odd wrenches in another tool box for the next company that tries this. Maybe I will paint this one red, or come up with a system, but his is more work for me for seemingly little reason. Or, maybe for the price, this is what we need to accommodate. Up to you
