Its ideal for rapid target acquisition on dangerous game, especially with the illuminated red dot. You can transition through light and dark backgrounds as the animal is moving, and just keep the dot on the animal's vitals. Wherever the dot is, that's where the bullet hits. It keeps it simple and easy and accurate in an exciting (and maybe dangerous) moment when you need utmost simplicity. No centering crosshairs, no holdovers, no looking at busy reticles -- just put the dot on the place where you want the bullet. On 1.5x you can keep both eyes open (which I always do with any scope)and track the target almost like open sights. 1x-5x would be even more ideal, but 1.5x-5x is pretty close. It has excellent eye relief (long), especially on 1.5x. That's very important on big kickers like a .505 Gibbs, or .458 Lott`or even a .375 H&H Magnum. The illuminated German #4 dot reticle is the best dangerous game reticle I've ever seen. You want certainty and simplicity when something big and dangerous is closing on you fast. Those qualities are multiplied when you need a second or even a third quick, follow-up shot. At that point just putting the dot on the center of mass is what counts most.
